Frequently Asked Questions
What Is A Virtual Assistant?
A Virtual Assistant (also know for short as a VA), is an independent contractor who provides administrative, technical, and personal assistance to clients. Clients tend to be entrepreneurs and other small business owners such as coaches, realtors, alternative healthcare practitioners, and more.
Virtual Assistants work from their own offices. Communication occurs via the phone, email, and fax machine. Think of a Virtual Assistant as your personal administrative assistant…they only work virtually.
A Virtual Assistant is more cost effective than an administrative assistant as you do not have to pay for their taxes, insurance, vacation or sick time, or other other benefits. A Virtual Assistant is a contractor NOT an employee.
How do I pay you?
If you are on a monthly plan with set hours I require payment at the beginning of the month.
If you only pay a flat an hourly rate regardless of number of hours then I bill at the end of every month.
If you are paying for a website you’ll need to pay half upfront and the other half upon completion.
You may pay me via PayPal or mail a check, whichever works best for you.
What happens when I use all my hours?
If you’re on a plan with a set number of hours and go over then you will be charged the extra at the flat rate of $40/hr. I will let you know in advance if you are coming close to that amount.
Do my unused hours roll over?
No they do not. If it is a concern that you will not have enough hours to fill a plan then I suggest using my pay by the hour plan. With that you ONLY pay for the hours you need each month. And if you don’t need me at all during a month, that’s ok too!
Why does a VA cost more than an office assistant?
Hiring a Virtual Assistant is a way to hire someone to get the work done without being burdened with paying payroll taxes, or benefits. You also do not have to provide office space or equipment, since the Virtual Assistant works from their own office.
If you hire an employee (or even a temp!), you will be paying an hourly rate, breaks, taxes, benefits, vacations, holidays, and providing office space and equipment. You also pay them whether they have work to do or not. When you hire a Virtual Assistant they are only paid for time spent working!

How do I submit my tasks?
You can send me an email with things that you need done or we can have a phone conversation going over your needs.
When do my hours expire?
If you are on a plan that has a set number of hours they will expire at the end of every month.
Can I change plans later?
Yes, you may change plans at the end of any month.
